Route Notes

The Empire State Trail officially ends at the Battery, at the southern tip of lower Manhattan. Here you can view the Statue of Liberty or hop on the Staten Island Ferry. Or you can keep going - a bike trail continues up the eastern edge of Manhattan, and offers a connection to the Brooklyn Bridge.
