About the Empire State Trail
The Empire State Trail is a trail system spanning the state of New York from New York City to the Canadian border, as well as from Albany to Buffalo.
At 750 miles, the Empire State Trail is the longest multi-use trail in the country. Some sections are on-road,
but off-road trail resources are used as much as possible.
There are three main sections: Erie Canalway (Buffalo to Albany), Hudson Valley (Manhattan to Albany), and Champlain Valley (Albany to Canadian border).
Eventually, another section will be added traversing Long Island.
